How to edit Reels with AI without the AI look

AI video turns generic when nobody decides what the viewer should feel. This is the path I follow in my Reels.
Validate the angle before writing
Before the script I check that the subject has an angle worth a video. Only then come the hook and the script to be narrated. Writing on top of a weak angle wastes time, with AI or without.
Edit for the effect
For each stretch I write what the viewer should feel and only then pick the image. An image the audience recognizes at once works better than a card with the speech captioned, and it keeps the video from looking assembled by a machine.
Build the sound in layers
Music over everything makes a video feel empty. I think in ambience, weight and detail. A sound effect only goes in where something happens on screen.
Mix for the phone
Most people will listen on a phone speaker. I balance music and voice with that in mind and check the volume before exporting.
Measure and write it down
After posting, I record the numbers so the next video comes out better. Across 28 Reels, the gap between the best one and the middle one was huge, and I write about it in What my Reels taught me.
Where this method is written down
Every step became an instruction for the agent to follow, in my Claude skills. If you would rather have me make the video, just order the edit.
